Structural Component Testing
Advanced materials, solution-oriented methods, qualitative and quantitative examinations
Beside standard mechanical tests on material samples which serve as first input in the design of components, structural component tests are important to determine
the behaviour of elements, subcomponents and components under working conditions. Component tests allow the assessment of
influencing parameters such as environment, assembly or manufacturing uncertainties, which can only be partly addressed by tests on
material samples. AAC´s test facilities for uniaxial static and dynamic loading in a large temperature range from
cryogenic to high temperature conditions
enable the measurement of the structural behaviour of elements, subcomponents and components. Structural testing is supported by
CAD and Finite Element Simulation tools for the design
of appropriate fixtures and prediction of the behaviour of the component under simulated loads. Furthermore,
online non-destructive methods such as Acoustic Emission are available
for early detection and localization of defects.
